Delete your data in Withkin
Withkin lets you delete specific pieces of your data — individual wins, journal entries, photos, and goals — without deleting your whole account. This page explains how, and what to do for anything the in-app controls don't cover.
Delete a win you posted
- Open the win from the family wall or your profile.
- Tap the ⋯ menu in the top-right.
- Tap Delete and confirm.
The win, any attached photo, and all reactions on it are removed immediately. Wins can only be deleted by their author.
Delete a journal entry
- Open Journal from the tab bar.
- Tap the entry you want to remove.
- Tap Delete and confirm.
Journal entries are private to you — only you can see or delete them.
Delete a photo
Photos live attached to wins or journal entries. Deleting the win or journal entry deletes its photo. To remove only the photo and keep the text, edit the win/entry and clear the attachment.
Delete a goal
- Open Goals from Settings.
- Tap the goal you want to remove.
- Tap Delete goal and confirm.
The goal and all its check-in history are removed immediately.
Anything else — email us
For data types not listed above, or if you want to delete something you no longer have access to in-app, email us from the address on your Withkin account:
To:
privacy@withkin.family
Subject: Delete my data
Body: which data you'd like removed (e.g.
"all my photos", "my goals from 2024", "my analytics data").
We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days and confirm when the work is done.
What may be kept, and why
- Wins other family members wrote. Wins authored by someone else are part of their record of their own family — they aren't yours to delete. If your name appears in one and you want it removed, email privacy@withkin.family and we'll anonymize it.
- Aggregate, non-identifying analytics. Event counts like "a win was logged" with no user identifier are retained for product analytics.
- Encrypted backups. Deleted data may remain in isolated disaster-recovery backups until the hosting provider's configured retention period expires. It is not restored to active product systems except for disaster recovery.
- Records we're legally required to keep (e.g. payment records for paying subscribers). Retained only as required by law, only for the required period.
