Delete your Withkin account
You can request deletion of your Withkin account and associated data at any time. This page explains how, what gets removed, and what (if anything) is kept.
How to request deletion
In Withkin, open You → Privacy and data → Delete account. Review what will be removed, type the confirmation word, and submit the request. We confirm receipt in the app and complete deletion within 30 days.
If you cannot access the app, email us from the address on your Withkin account. Requests from other addresses require additional ownership verification.
To:
privacy@withkin.family
Subject: Delete my account
Body: (optional) the email address on your Withkin
account, if different from the sender address.
We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days and confirm when the work is done.
What gets deleted
- Your profile and active family membership
- Wins you authored and the photos attached to them
- Private journal entries and journal photos
- Goals you owned or created and your check-in history
- Push tokens and notification preferences
- Moderation reports you submitted
- Authentication credentials (email + password hash)
What may be kept, and why
- Wins other family members wrote about you. These are part of another person's record of their own family. We remove your name from them (they display as "a family member") but we do not delete someone else's content without their request.
- Aggregate, non-identifying analytics. Event counts like "a win was logged" with no user identifier attached are retained for product analytics.
- Encrypted backups. Deleted data may remain in isolated disaster-recovery backups until the hosting provider's configured retention period expires. It is not restored to active product systems except for disaster recovery.
- Records we're legally required to keep (e.g. payment records, if you were a paying subscriber). We retain only the minimum required by applicable law and only for the required period.
If yours is the only authenticated account in a family, the family and its family content are deleted instead of being left inaccessible.
In-app deletion
The in-app request is the fastest path because it verifies the signed-in account directly and lets you see the request status. If you cannot sign in, the email process above remains available.
Cancelling a subscription is different
Cancelling a subscription doesn't delete your account — it just stops billing and moves you back to the free tier. Manage subscriptions in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions or App Store → Subscriptions. To delete your account, follow the email steps above.
